Special Event: Sunday Morning Mass Thikr…
PAGAD (the People Against Gangsterism & Drugs) remains committed in its objective to eradicate gangsterism and drugs in this Society! To demonstrate this intent, congregations & communities were treated to a Sunday morning of prayer at the MountView Masjid in Athlone.
The focus of this event was to thank and praise God (Allah SWT); and to appeal to the Almighty to place relief in our communities from all the pain and suffering caused by the scourge of gangsterism & drugs. Our plea was also for t
he Almighty to strengthen us so that we can assist those who have gone astray; to help us change the condition of the people; and to help those who are struggling with their children due to drug addiction.
Families, friends and neighbours from various regions were represented at this very special & auspicious event. Members of the Jamaa also each received a Free Commemorative Launch Edition of our Thikr Kitaab. Upon completion of Thuhr Salaah (midday prayers), guests were also treated to a scrumptious hot meal – to complement the drizzly weather.
The congregation pledged to stand together as a united front against this evil scourge affecting our Society. See video attached.

Our campaign of establishing PAGAD Branches countrywide is steadily gaining momentum. Branch Events are being scheduled on an ongoing basis. Watch the poster banners above for further details.
Eid-ul-Adha Greetings from PAGAD…
“Surely Abraham was an example, obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the polytheists. He was grateful for Our bounties. We chose him and guided him unto a right path. We gave him good in this world, and in the next he will most surely be among the righteous.” ~ Al Qur’an Surah 16 Verses 120 – 121
One of Abraham’s main trials was to face the command of Allah to kill his only son. Upon hearing this command, he prepared to submit to Allah’s will. When he was all prepared to do it, Allah revealed to him that his “sacrifice” had already been fulfilled. He had shown that his love for his Lord superseded all others that he would lay down his own life or the lives of those dear to him in order to submit to God.
